SAPoffice

Purpose

SAPoffice is the electronic mail and folder system in R/3.

Using the mail system, you can send documents internally (to other SAP users in the same system) and externally (to non-SAP users or SAP users in another system). Documents are sent to external users via the telematic services, X.400 or the Internet. Documents are sent to SAP users in another system via SAPcomm (up to Release 3.0) or SAPconnect.

Documents can be managed in the folder system. In private folders, each user can create their own folder structure for their documents. In shared folders, folders can be created with general information or group-specific information.

Integration

SAPoffice is integrated into business applications in the following ways:

Inbox

The inbox groups together the SAPoffice inbox list and the work list. Work items from SAP Business Workflow are processed in the work list.

Communications interface

The business applications can use the communications options via the standard communications interface. The communications interface distributes the data to the various communications components, for example, via SAPconnect.

The figure below shows the possible data transfer routes from SAP applications to the communications interface.
