Monitoring the Telephone Environment

Use

Various views are available in SAPphone for monitoring the system status for telephone integration. For each external telephony component, you can display the current operational statuses and, if necessary, configure a trace.

Features

SAPphone administration offers various views of your system environment. All views show the telephone integration in a tree structure with the following levels:

The telephony servers are displayed with name and description, workplaces with extension, workplace ID and user name of the workplace user. You can display more information on the telephony servers by switching between different views:

Use

From SAPphone administration, you can display the current system status for each telephony server. If errors occur, you can set the trace for the external telephony component to the highest level in SAPphone administration. The trace logs the data until you reset it.

You can display the trace in the R/3 System. To do this, specify the required time period and level of information (for example, only errors and warning or also information). In the trace display, you can call further explanations and, if necessary, solution proposals for each entry.

If you configure a trace in SAPphone administration, the trace for the external telephony software is set to the highest level available and existing trace settings are overwritten. If you cancel the trace in SAPphone administration, the trace settings for the external telephony component are reset to the original value (for example, deactivated or set to a lower level).
