Sending Calls

You can send calls with a note or as an attachment to a document. The recipient can then call you back by calling the document or the attachment.

Procedure

  1. Create a document in a SAPoffice folder or choose an existing one.
  2. Alternatively, you can send the object directly by specifying the type OBJ and selecting the object SAPphone: Telephone call.

  3. Select Document ® Create attachment ® Link to business object
  4. A list of object types available for the attachment is displayed.

  5. Select the entry SAPphone: Telephone call.
  6. A dialog box is displayed in which the telephone number and the country indicator for the call recipient can be entered.
  7. Select Send, enter the recipients from the send screen, and select Send again.

Example

An employee cannot be reached by telephone at the moment. You can send a message to the employee, informing them that you are trying to contact them and append an executable call to your telephone number to the message. When the recipient executes the attachment, the Initiate call dialog box containing the specified number is displayed.

SAPphone uses this function when a user is to be informed about unanswered calls. If the default setting has been configured accordingly, the user receives a message informing them about the unanswered call(s) and containing a callback function as an attachment.
