Assigning Working Time Groups to an Org. Unit

Use

A working time group is a subtype record of the Working Time infotype (1011). This information can be entered for an organizational unit.

Working time groups are defined on the basis of employee groups and employee subgroups. You can groups together different employee groups and subgroups into a working time group. Working time groups are defined in Customizing (see Prerequisites).

When you assign a working time group to an organizational unit, you are defining a reference planned working time for the organizational unit in question.

If a working time group is defined for an organizational unit, this working time group is passed on automatically to all lower-level organizational units and positions (except when working times are defined specifically for individual objects).

Prerequisites

You must have defined working time groups in Customizing by working through the step Personnel Management ® Organizational Management ® Infotype Settings ® Working Time ® Maintain Working Time Groups.

Procedure

To assign a working time group to an organizational unit, proceed as follows:

  1. Access the organizational structure using the Organization view.
  2. Select the root organizational unit, and choose View ® Expand.
  3. Select the organizational unit to which you want to assign a working time group, and then choose Extras ® Working time.
  4. The Planned Working Time dialog box appears.

  5. Specify a working time and select a working time group for this working time.
  6. If the working time is to apply to all lower-level objects, select the Standard working time flag.
  7. Choose Check.
  8. Choose Save and close.

You can assign other working times and working time groups to an organizational unit by working through the procedure again from step 3 on. The system will then create a new working time record.
