Other Features (Internal Calculation Key)

Use

The calculation key offers three other settings for depreciation calculation, in addition to the settings already discussed.

Features

Calculate Shutdown

By specifying shutdown periods in the master record, you can use this indicator to suspend depreciation during shutdown periods.

Depreciation per Asset Value Date

By means of this indicator, the system can depreciate acquisitions in the original acquisition year either starting from the depreciation start date or from the asset value date of the acquisition. In the first case, the system carries out uniform depreciation for all acquisitions to an asset. In the second case, the system depreciates each acquisition from the asset value date of the acquisition posting.

Depreciation to the Day

This indicator enables you to use depreciation that is accurate to the day. The period control rules in the calculation key are deactivated for the entire life of the asset. This affects all transactions (acquisitions, retirements and transfers). The system always uses the asset value date as the depreciation start date. This type of depreciation is a legal requirement in France, for example.
