Defining Reclassification Rules

1. Access the overall budget using the Overall budget view.

The status of the overall budget must be Proposed or Released.

The Change Overall Budget screen appears.

2. Select the budget structure element for which you want to define a reclassification rule.

3. Choose Extras ® Reclassification rule ® Create.

The Create Reclassification Rule dialog box appears.

4. If you want to display information on the budget of the budget structure element in question, choose Budget information.

5. Select a type of reclassification rule, and assign a validity period to it.

6. If the reclassification rule is to appear in the official documents that accompany the budget, select External rule.

7. Specify the pay scale classification to be assigned to the new budget structure element. Do this by entering a pay scale type, pay scale area, employee subgroup grouping for pay scale provisions and pay scale group.

8. Enter the number of full-time equivalents that the reclassification rule is to affect.

9. If necessary, enter administrative information.

10. Choose Check.

If you have defined a quantity-based factor for converting between these two pay scales in Customizing, then the system displays the Quantity-based conversion flag and the Conversion factor pushbutton. To display the conversion factor defined in Customizing for converting between the two pay scale types, click on the Conversion factor pushbutton. If you select the Quantity-based conversion flag, the system will use this conversion factor when the reclassification rule is activated. Otherwise, the system will use the default values defined in Customizing to convert between the two pay scales.

11. If you want the system to use the quantity-based conversion factor, select the Quantity-based conversion flag.

12. Choose Create and close.
