Carrying Forward of the Overall Budget

Use

You can use the function Carrying Forward of Overall Budget to carry forward an overall budget (including its budget structure elements and the budgets of these budget structure elements) to a new financial year.

The overall budget for 1999 is currently being executed. Planning for the year-2000 overall budget are about to commence. By carrying forward the 1999 overall budget, you create the budget hierarchy for the year-2000 overall budget. The overall budget for the year 2000 has the status Proposed. This means that you can use this overall budget for planning.

Prerequisites

In Customizing for HR Funds and Position Management (Overall Budget ® Define carry-forward method for budgets), you must already have specified which infotypes are to be extended or created.

Features

The Carrying Forward of Overall Budget function comprises the following functionality:

Copy current overall budget (including all its budget structure elements and the budgets of these budget structure elements) to a new financial year
Check consistency of overall budget to be carried forward before this overall budget actually is carried forward

If the budget currency for the new financial year is changed over to the euro (Customizing), the system converts all original budgets into euros when the overall budget is carried forward.
