Enhancements to the Time Sheet (CATS) 

Description

1. As of Release 4.5A, it is possible for your employees to record their working times in the internet or intranet.

2. Five variants are now available for filling CO documents with data from the time sheet.

3. As of Release 4.5A, you can also use the time sheet in distributed systems.

4. If you implement R/3 Payroll Accounting, four variants for controlling cost accounting are now available.

5. The mechanism for determining default values from the Time Sheet Defaults infotype (0315) has been reworked:

• Default values for the sender cost center and the activity type are only proposed if a receiver has been entered.

• The default values are now also proposed for confirmations. They override the default from the work center.

6. The following new fields are available for the field selection:

• You can use the SAP enhancement CATS0010 to display user-defined fields in the time sheet worklist. The fields are 40 characters long. They can be used to display the name of a displayed object such as a WBS element, for example. The fields are display-only and are not saved with the other data when you exit the transaction.

• You can now specify an accounting indicator for confirming service orders and networks. As well as differentiating between different cost types, the accounting indicator can be used as an additional decision criterion. This means you can flag costs and revenue according to sales, warranty or good will.

• You can enter a business process as a receiver.

• You can use the time sheet instead of the Attendances or Absences infotypes to supply data to the Employee Remuneration Information infotype (2010). In this procedure, a wage type, instead of an attendace or absence type, is specified. Note that in this case, you can only assign hours, not amounts, to a wage type.

7. If you use a data entry profile to process several personnel numbers, you can use certain settings to limit the selection of personnel numbers. In Release 4.5A, you can also use a standard report or a user-defined report to select personnel numbers.

Change system parameters in customizing

1. You can use the RCATSFAW report to hide the new fields automatically. This means that you do not need to modify the field selection for all profiles.

2. For information on SAP enhancements, see the step Create SAP enhancements for the time sheet .

3. You can use the step Set up data entry profiles to insert the name of report that you want to use to select personnel numbers. You can specify a report variant under user parameter VSR (Variant for Selection Report) for each user, so that the report is called automatically.
