Central Address Management for SD Documents
Description
As of Release 4.5A, the document addresses and CPD addresses will no
longer managed in table SADR. They will be managed in the Central Address Management table (ADRC). This is simply an administrative
change and involves no changes to functionality. When you upgrade to
Release 4.5A, all document and CPD addresses in SD documents will be
copied from the existing address table SADR into the central address
management table. When you enter new addresses in the system, they will not be stored in table SADR.
Consequences for Customer Programs
You must adapt all programs in which addresses are accessed directly
from table SADR (for example, print programs). You can use the function
module ADDR_GET to read addresses. For more information, see the function module documentation.
Use
1. Using the address number, the system can access the central address
management table to find appropriate address for a form. The system
observes the country-specific address layout when it enters the address in the form.
The print programs in SD have been expanded to include
so that the system can fill the address window in the SD forms directly from the central address table.
The Sales Support form SD-CAS-MAIL has been enhanced to include the
command to fill the address window with the fields from the structure
ADDR_KEY. For compatibility reasons, the fields used up till now remain in the form.
You can adapt the other SD forms, taking SD-CAS-MAIL as an example.
You can still use the existing print functions in Release 45A. However,
in the long term, you must adapt your forms to use the new central address management.
2. You can send a direct mailing by internet.
