DART is a tool to extract transaction and master data from an R/3 system to an external flat file. DART can be used to comply with data retention requirements, e.g. in order to support tax audits. DART extracts data from various documents and supporting master data. Documents are selected by company code, fiscal year and period. The tool first selects all FI documents, and then these related documents:
Master data that explains all codes used in these documents are also extracted.
DART extracts only a subset of all available fields in the source tables. These fields have been determined by a representative group of customers with the goal of meeting basic tax audit requirements. There are customer exits to add fields and data sources.
DART includes these additional tools:
With release 4.0C DART is part of the core R/3 system. If DART had been installed in an earlier release as an add-on, it will be automatically replaced by this core release. All customizing settings will be preserved.
If you have created data file views that use sets in earlier releases,
it is recommended to convert all sets to the new format that has been
introduced in release 4.0. For details please see the corresponding
release note
. After the conversion, please edit the affected views and re-enter the sets.
To access DART, select "Tools" > "Administration", "Administration" > "Data Retention Tool", or call transaction FTW0 (enter /nFTW0 in the command field).
DART is currently only available in English language.
