R/3 Internet Application Components and Web Basis 

Description

With the delivery of Internet Application Components (IACs) in Release 3.1, SAP laid the foundations for developing business applications on the Internet. The Internet Application Components cover a broad spectrum of business functions.

Internet Application Components are based on the Internet Transaction Server (ITS), a component of Web Basis.

In Release 4.5A new developments in the Web Basis area are:

• Administration Tool for the Internet Transaction Server (ITS)
  

A browser-based administration tool is provided for managing and configuring the ITS.

• WGate for UNIX
  

WGate is the Web server enhancement of the ITS. In Release 4.5A WGate can be used on the following UNIX platforms:

• AIX

• Digital UNIX

• HP/UX

• Reliant Unix (SINIX)

• Sun Solaris
  

In Release 4.5A new developments in Internet Application Components are:

• The structure of existing Internet Application Components has been optimized.
  

• The following new Internet Application Components have been added in
  the Intranet area:
