Finding Objects: New and Changed Functions

Description

Customer Enhancements (User-Exits)

The following enhancements are provided for finding objects:

New Effectivity Types for Finding Objects

Engineering change management now lets you use effectivity parameters such as serial numbers, as well as dates, to process characteristics, values, the characteristics of a class, and classifications of objects.

If the class type allows you to process classifications with parameter effectivity, you see the Parameter effectivity pushbutton on the initial screen for finding objects. To determine the effective version of characteristics and object allocations for your class (for example, effective for material CAR and serial numbers 10 - 40), choose this pushbutton.

Using the Class Hierarchy to Find Objects

On the initial screen for finding objects, you see the class hierarchy pushbutton. If your class is part of a class hierarchy, you can choose this function to display all superior and subordinate classes of the class. If a subordinate class has objects allocated to it, you can use the "find" icon to search for objects in this class.
