Relevancy Indicator for Characteristics
You can define the characteristics of a class as print-relevant, search-relevant, and display-relevant. The relevancy indicator is only valid in conjunction with the organizational areas.
If one or more organizational areas is assigned to a characteristic, youcan use the relevancy indicator to determine that a characteristic is only used when you display, or print, or search, in a specific application.
The application checks this indicator internally. For example, in the find objects function, you only see the characteristics that are assigned to your organizational area AND have the Search-relevant indicator.
If the indicator is set for one or more characteristics in a class, the program uses the indicator to select characteristics. Otherwise, all characteristics are shown.
Linking Documents to a Class
You can use class maintenance functions to link a document to a class. As of this Release, you can link several documents at once to a class, by choosing Object link on the document link screen.
Local Classes
You can define a class as a local class by setting an indicator on the basic data screen. If you use Application Link Enabling (ALE) to distribute classification data, the allocations to a local class do not change. This allows you to maintain one portion of your classification data centrally, and distribute it, while maintaining another portion locally in your subsystem.
Maintenance with New Effectivity Types
Engineering change management now lets you use effectivity parameters such as serial numbers to process the characteristics of a class, as well as dates. The change number determines which effectivity type applies when you change the characteristics of a class.
Longer German Standards Institute (DIN) Code Letter for Characteristics
(Germany-specific) The DIN code letter for characteristics is copied when you copy DIN data, and displayed on the characteristics screen in class maintenance. This field is now 15 characters long.
