In this activity you can create or change planning layouts for planning balance sheet accounts.
When you plan balance sheet accounts, your planning layout must contain the following characteristics:
You must specify either a single value, a group, an interval, or a variable for each of these characteristics in your planning layout. If you define a variable, this variable must be replaced in planning, so that the user is always planning concrete values of that characteristic.
Plan and actual data are distinguished by their plan/actual indicator. If no actual data is contained in the layout, you do not need to select this characteristic. However, if you do want to display actual data, you need to specify a plan/actual indicator for every column in the layout. For plan data, you also need to specify a plan version. Actual data does not require a version.
The characteristics "Functional area", "Partner profit center", "Representative material", "Plant", "Object class", and "Quantity unit" are optional and can be defined as optional variables. In that case, users do not need to specify a characteristic in planning.
Note that a partner profit center must be specified in order for internal profits to be eliminated in reporting and in consolidation. If you do not want values to be eliminated when you analyze your data at higher levels (profit center groups), this data must NOT be entered with a partner profit center, even if the partner is known. (Example: direct consumption in profit center P1 from the stock in profit center P2).
The characteristic "Origin object" is optional, though it must be specified if used in the layout. If you wish to summarize data across the origin object, it cannot be contained in the layout as a characteristic.
Your planning layout must contain at least one key figure with currency amounts. If you select the key figure "Transaction currency", you must specify the transaction currency (or currencies) in which you want to plan. Note that a transaction currency is only stored if you entered it explicitly. Otherwise the data is only updated in the other currencies.
In addition to currency amounts, you can also plan quantities. However, you cannot plan quantities without a corresponding currency value. If you want to plan quantities, you should also choose the characteristic "Quantity unit" in the layout. If you do not specify a quantity unit for a quantity, the system updates the quantities without a unit. Note that once you have entered plan quantities without a unit, you can later change the quantity but cannot specify a unit.
You can display actual values as well as costs and revenues in layouts for planning balance sheet accounts. You can also use these to calculate other amounts. However, these values are locked so that you cannot manually enter or change them.
In the standard R/3 System, planning layouts only exist in client "000". To be able to use these as templates for your own planning layouts, you need to import them to the client you are using.
