Define parameters

In this step, you define the effectivity parameters for effectivity types.

These parameters are allocated to an effectivity type in the work step Define effectivity type

assigned values in the change master record

Preconditions

If you want to use parameter effectivity to control the effectivity of object changes, activate the new effectivity types in the work step: Set up control data.

Standard settings

In the standard R/3 System, the following parameters are defined:

• DATE (date)

• SERNR (serial number)

• MATNR (material number)

Activities

To define effectivity parameters, proceed as follows:

1. Choose Create.

2. Enter an effectivity parameter key.

This key is not language-dependent.

3. Enter the data element that defines the properties of the parameter.

4. Enter the data type.

The type determines which values you can enter for effectivity.

5. Enter a language-dependent description in your logon language.

6. If required, enter the check table .

7. If required, enter the check field .

8. Save your entries.
