Employee sickness and maternity absences are evaluated by the Payroll Accounting component for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) and Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) purposes.

To do this, the Payroll Accounting component uses the employees' absence details recorded in the Absences infotype (2001). It can then evaluate the absences in conjunction with the SSP and SMP data on each employee and produce the SSP and SMP figures for payroll accounting.

The information the Payroll Accounting component requires on the employees is stored in the following infotype records:

• SSP1(L) Form Data Record (infotype 0085)

• SSP/SMP Exclusions (infotype 0086)

• SMP Record (infotype 0088)
