Planning
In this step, you define the following parameters for Sequencing:
The dispatching period determines the length of the planning period and
is one of the prerequisites for dispatching planned orders. The planning period determines the period of time in which the planned
orders are sequenced.
The logic the system uses to dispatch the planned orders in Sequencing is described below:
- The system determines the orders to be dispatched in one day on the basis of the order start date.
- Then the system calculates the sequence of these planned orders. Using
the dispatching period you determine whether the system is to calculate
the sequence of the planned orders per day (dispatching period = 1 day)
or whether it is to calculate the sequence of the planned orders over
several days (dispatching period = 2 days or more). This means, the
dispatching period specifies a group of planned orders which are to be taken into account when determining the sequence.
You use the processing profile to determine the method the system is to
use for determining the sequence of the planned orders in the dispatching period.
The following methods are available:
- External optimization procedure (Via PP POI interface)
In the FIFO procedure, the sequence is determined using the sales order number and item.
