Field Labels

The field labels are used to display fields in a screen template. You can refer to the field label of the data element when you define a screen template. The text of the field label is translated and can be displayed in the screen template in the correct logon language.

You can define key words in three different lengths to display the field in the screen template. The default values shown can be changed.

You can define a header for displaying the field in the column headers within tabular record entries.

The flag Maintain field labels allows you to switch maintenance of field labels on and off. You should always maintain the field labels for data elements unless they are not used in any screen templates.

If field labels have already been maintained and the flag is switched off, a warning is issued and the field labels are deleted.
