So that the SAP System can recognize which storage locations in Materials Management are controlled by the Warehouse Management system (MM-WM), you must assign the plants and the storage location to the warehouse number.
Within a plant it is not possible to assign several storage locations to the same warehouse number. Here we would ask you to refer also to the notes in the chapter Define storage location control (WM interface to Inventory Management).
The component MM-IM (Inventory Management) is implemented.
In the SAP standard system, warehouse number 001 is assigned to storage location 0088 in plant 0001. This assignment activates the full Warehouse Management system, that is, in this warehouse number, stocks are also managed for storage bins.
In addition, the warehouse number 100 is assigned to the storage location 0001 in plant 0001. This assignment activates Lean WM. In Lean WM, no storage bin stocks are managed. This only affects picking in the shipping area. For more information on "Lean WM", refer to the IMG for the Shipping component (Section Shipping - Picking).
Allocate the storage locations to the warehouse numbers.
Notes on transport
After each table transport into the target system, check the consistency of the assignments.
