Allowing an EAN to Be Assigned to Several Materials

Prerequisites

Since an EAN (International Article Number) is used to identify a material uniquely, it is unusual to assign it more than once, that is, to different materials and packaging. However, under certain circumstances, you may decide that this is appropriate.

Procedure

  1. Access Customizing for the Material Master and choose Material ® Control Data ® Define attributes of system messages.

    2. A dialog box appears.

  2. Choose System messages.

    3. The overview screen appears.

  3. As the message category of message M3 348, enter either W for warning or leave the message category blank so that no message is issued.
