SAP Military Data Exchange (SAP MDE) is an industry-specific add-on for Defense Forces & Public Security (DFPS) that exports relevant data from SAP ERP systems either to Command and Control Information Systems (CCIS) or to NATO Functional Area Services (FAS). The add-on supports the military decision making process (MDMP) for the following purposes: To initially supply ERP data on organizational units (meaning the comparison of authorized and actual personnel and material, status, and level of readiness) to these systems, to regularly update the data in these systems, or to link processes across multiple information domains (communities of interests), based on preconfigured military message text formats compliant with NATO standards, for example, Allied Data Publication 3 (ADatP-3) and Multilateral Interoperability Program (MIP), Allied Deployment and Movement System (ADAMS), Logistics Reporting (readiness RIC, RIL cumulated provisions package), Operational Functional Area Services (OpFAS). The SAP MDE is ECCN classified and export controlled.
