The SAP Java Base IDoc Class Library provides an API which helps interpreting and navigating IDocs.

This base package is middleware independent. It offers a set of general base classes and interfaces for middleware dependent Java IDoc Class Library implementations. To make use of the SAP Java Base IDoc Class Library you will need an additional middleware dependent add-on package implementing the defined interfaces like the SAP Java Connector IDoc Class Library.

The interfaces and classes defined here in this base package are sufficient for navigating, reading, filling and modifying IDocs. Creating, sending and receiving IDocs is middleware dependent. For more information on these issues, please see the documentation of compatible connectors and add-on packages.
