Package com.sap.portal.servicedefinition Description

Provides interfaces that enable the creation of portal services that can be called by Web Dynpro applications in remote scenarios.

Using this package, you can:

• Declare that a portal service is remote safe, meaning that it can be used in a remote scenario.
• Create a contextual service, that is, a service that maintains state for the current user.
  When Web Dynpro applications request an instance of a contextual service from the service factory, the service factory maintains a single instance of the service for each user, and returns to all the applications this single instance.

Only portal services that are remote safe can be called via the service factory. Contextual services are automatically remote safe.
