Example documentationExample: Master Data Mapping in Data Model 0F

This example shows how you can map your master data and its properties and interrelationships in a data model. The example describes the master data mapping in data model 0F, which SAP ships with the standard Financial Master Data Management component.

The Customizing settings for the example data model are available at   Cross-Application Components  Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications  Financial Master Data Management  Data Modeling  Edit Data Model  .

Prerequisites

To display the master data mapping in data model 0F, you have installed the 0F data model and UI model, together with all the development objects used, and they are inactive.

Features

Note Note

General information about setting up data models is available under Setting Up a Data Model and the Database Tables.

End of the note.
Storage and use types of the entity types

Data model 0F contains entity types with the following storage and usage types to map the different master data types:

  • Storage and usage type 1

You can edit master data with this entity type directly, using a change request in the single processing area.

  • Storage and usage type 4

You can only edit master data with this entity type using a change request for an entity type assigned to storage and usage type 1.

Note Note

In addition, there are attributes that were defined as separate entity types for storage and usage type 3 and are available as additional entity types in hierarchies in data model 0F.

End of the note.
Attributes of entity types

The following attributes for entity types are available in data model 0F for defining properties of entity types:

  • Attributes resulting from properties of the entity types in the data model

    • Specification of the key data element

    • Specification of the storage and usage type

    • Support for hierarchies and types of hierarchies

    • Support for multilingual texts

    • Configuration of long/medium/short texts

    • Support for attachments

  • Attributes that are either defined directly in the data model or result from relationships

    • Specification of the technical name of an attribute

When key fields are inherited, the name of the relationship is specified in the higher-level entity type to identify the origin.

      Example Example

COAFRS is specified as the first key field in the financial statement item. This name stems from the COAFRS relationship from the chart of accounts to the financial reporting structure.

      End of the example.
    • Description of the entity type

    • Specification of the From Entity Type for relationships

    • Specification of technical information for the type

Key field (S), required-entry field (P), optional (blank)

Note Note

The entity types financial reporting structure (FRSNAME) and consolidation hierarchy (FCRSNAME) listed in the above table were created to enable you to map the following:

  • You want to portray a financial statement item in a hierarchy, the financial reporting structure. In turn, this financial reporting structure has the chart of accounts as higher-level entity type.

  • You want to portray a group account item in a hierarchy, the consolidation hierarchy. In turn, this consolidation hierarchy has the group chart of accounts as the higher-level entity type.

The entity types financial reporting structure (FRSNAME) and consolidation hierarchy (FCRSNAME) take their possible values from the USMDZ1FRS and USMDZ1FCRS check tables.

End of the note.
