On this screen, the skills are shown in the form of a tree; positions are the root nodes, and skill-related information are the leaves. The required proficiency of a skill is displayed at skill level alongside the employee’s existing proficiency in that skill. There is a visual status indicator to show whether the requirement is met, and the expiry data of the qualification can be displayed (optional License Expires On column). A visual status indicator is also present at the position level to show if the position’s requirements as a whole are met.
In Concurrent Employment (CE)/Global Employment (GE) scenario, when the Business Function CA, Employee Qualifications for Concurrent/Global Employment is activated, there is also the option to show the status of the personnel assignment at the position level.
By default, the Skills Profile iView appears.
This function can be used in the following scenarios:
It is recommended to use the new Skills Profile and Profile Matchup application.
a. Business Function CA, Employee Qualifications for Concurrent/Global Employment is active.
In this case, the old Skills Profile application may be inconsistent. It is recommended to use the new Skills Profile and Profile Matchup application.
b. Business Function CA, Employee Qualifications for Concurrent/Global Employment is not active.
In CE/GE environment, it is recommended to switch on the Business Function CA, Employee Qualifications for Concurrent/Global Employment. If this is not possible, you can still use the Skills Profile and Profile Matchup application; however, it is not recommended. To use the application in this scenario, you must make additional settings in order for the dialog box for personnel assignment selection to appear correctly:
i. Perform the following activity in Customizing for Personnel Management by choosing Employee Self-Service ® General Settings ® Concurrent Employment (CE)/Global Employment (GE) ® Assign CE/GE Group Definition Settings to ESS Applications.
ii. Go to the entry with Application ID EMPLOYEE_SKILLSPROFILE_SERVICE. Enter the new Application ID as EMPLOYEE_SKILLSENHPROFILE_SERVICE_13 using the F4 help.
iii. Change the Application Name to SkillsEnhApplication_13. Leave the other entries as they are, and ensure that the Activate check box is selected.
iv. Save the new entry. This enables the dialog box for personnel assignment selection to be displayed.

You must either use the old Skills Profile application, or the new Skills Profile and Profile Matchup application. Using both in the same portal at the same time is not supported.
