User Management
User management for the XBRL Reporting (FIN-FB-XR) application component uses the mechanisms provided by SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP, for example, tools, user types, and password policies. For an overview of how these mechanisms affect XBRL Reporting, see the sections below.
XBRL Reporting uses user and role maintenance from SAP NetWeaver
Application Server ABAP
(transactions SU01, PFCG). For more information, see
Identity Management of
the Application Server ABAP.
It is often necessary to create different security policies for different types of users. For example, your policy may specify that users who perform their tasks interactively have to change their passwords on a regular basis, but not those users who perform their tasks using background processing.
Examples of user types required for XBRL Reporting:
● Individual users:
Dialog users are used for configuration and live operations.
● Technical users:
Communication users are used for establishing an RFC connection between the system running XBRL Reporting and the system running SAP NetWeaver BI, which is used as the data basis for XBRL Reporting. The same holds true for the RFC connections between the operational systems and SAP NetWeaver BI. These connections are of central importance to the XBRL Reporting component for the regular availability of reporting data from the operational systems.
You also need these users for running the transport tool, which is provided in the Financials Basis (FINBASIS) component and used by the XBRL Reporting component, to distribute Customizing data within the production systems and clients.
For more information about these user types, see the security guide for SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP under User Types.
