Function documentation Checking Scorecards  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this function to analyze a scorecard you defined with respect to the time-based dependencies between scorecard elements. This function is also helpful if the system reports inconsistencies when you work with a scorecard and you want to find them. For instance, it is possible that, in the design of a scorecard, you assigned a validity period to a scorecard element (for example, to an objective) that does not correspond to the validity period of a higher-level scorecard element (for example, a strategy).

Caution

The dependency of scorecard elements on the validity time period of perspectives is not checked.

Features

Before you perform a check, select a scorecard and specify from which period the scorecard should be checked. You can check a maximum time period of five years. You also determine whether the system should perform the check in expert mode or in standard mode.

Note

If you chose the expert mode, the detailed error list also displays the table name and the technical name of the object concerned.

Start the check with This graphic is explained in the accompanying text. You then obtain an overview of the results. In this overview, the scorecard elements are arranged hierarchically in a tree. The tree is expanded up to the scorecard elements where inconsistencies were found; these are also marked with the symbol This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

For each scorecard element, you can see whether it is defined in relation to a period (marked with an "X"), not defined (marked with a "-"), or whether there is an inconsistency (marked with a "?"). You will get an inconsistency when, for example, a strategy "S1" is invalid for the periods 003.1999 to 006.1999 while an objective "O1" that belongs to the strategy "S1", is also valid for the periods 003.1999 to 006.1999.

You obtain a detailed error description for scorecard elements marked with This graphic is explained in the accompanying text by double-clicking on it, or by activating it and choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text ; you are then taken to the error list. If you choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text in the error list, you obtain information on how to remove the inconsistency.
