Purpose
The SAP Management Cockpit is a tool with which you can use high-quality graphics to process all the data on which you base your business decisions. This data can be both internal and external to your enterprise: you can, for example, illustrate the relationship between your enterprise's investment strategy and the current state of the financial markets.
The SAP Management Cockpit helps you process information by allowing direct access to reporting data in the SAP
Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW). Here, you can freely combine accounting, logistics or human resources data. Predefined informative graphics and a well-thought out structure for arranging the visual information units enable you to easily convert the data into presentable information.
The graphics represent information units, which allow management to grasp even complex situations at a glance and to make the required decisions as quickly as possible.
Implementation Considerations
You use the Management Cockpit when you want to present and discuss highly aggregated enterprise data from different perspectives with a group of people. Whether you install the Management Cockpit or not, it has no effect on the implementation and use of other SAP SEM components.
Integration
The Management Cockpit relies on the same data basis as the other SAP SEM components. The SAP BW provides this data basis.
