Using the SAP Best Practices Installation Assistant, you can easily install SAP Best Practices
within a very short time. The following installation options are available:
- You can either install SAP Best Practices for Pharmaceuticals using the SAP Best Practices default values
and sample master data, or
- You can install a personalized version of SAP Best
Practices. This option allows you to enter the personalized values, such as central organizational data or master data, to
meet your specific needs during the first phase of the installation process.
 |
If the support package levels in your system are different than the suggested level ranges in the
Installation
Quick Guide for Pharmaceuticals, you may encounter errors during the installation.
SAP recommends that you only install at the exact levels provided
in the Installation Quick Guide.
|
 |
Regardless which installation option you choose, you always have the possibility to install
either all or only selected SAP Best Practices scenarios. The installation process is easy to
understand and is guided, step-by-step, by the Installation Assistant. Large
parts of the installation have been automatized so that it can be run unattended. The overall
installation time ranges depend on the installation options chosen.
Before you start the installation,
- read the instructions in the
Installation Quick Guide
for Pharmaceuticals and ensure that you fulfilled installation
prerequisites (required SAP Notes and support package levels) as described there.
- always get the latest information on this release of SAP Best Practices for Pharmaceuticals from
SAP Note 970638.
- get familiar with the new tool
Installation Assistant for automated installation.
If you experience any problems when using the Installation Assistant, please refer to the
Trouble-Shooting
document.
|
Note:
As in previous SAP Best Practices releases, you can also use the configuration
guides to install the predefined scenarios without using the Installation Assistant.
