Q104 - Supply & Demand Planning |
|
This Supply & Demand Planning scenario describes an integrated planning process, that will be executed in a medium to long term basis including the elements of flexible planning, standard SOP, long term planning, material requirement planning and capacity planning. The starting point for this scenario is the module flexible planning, where the marketing or sales department will forecast the expected sales for the given planning period. In order to support the decision of the planner a statistical forecast and history will be provided by the system. The sales forecast provides the input to determine production quantities in production planning. The production planning consists of the rough-cut plan and the long term planning in the next step which is simulated with different inactive versions of the production plan. The defined active version in the demand program inputs the requirement quantities and dates to the material requirement planning to guarantee a later material availability through purchasing and production proposals after MRP run. Resource planning is also described in the planning scenario to determine the amounts of the work center capacities and other resources required to meet the production targets. The capacity planning can be used to support the production planning to evaluate available capacity on single resources and to determine and compare capacity requirements. With capacity levelling operations are optimally dispatched to the time when there is sufficient capacity on the resource for them to be executed. Process Flow
