Master Data |
Make Your System a Living System |
| Master data is the central information source for your company.
All SAP components access this data. By integrating master data in
central database objects, you can avoid data redundancy. SAP
components use data from the individual master data records for most
transactions. Generating your company's master data in an SAP Best Practices system is one of the central tasks in the implementation process. The sample master data provided allows you to successfully implement the preconfigured business scenarios. The data can be imported into the preconfigured system using test procedures created with the Extended Computer Aided Test Tool (eCATT). If necessary, it is possible to replace the sample data delivered by SAP Best Practices with your own master data. For more information on how to proceed, see section Analyzing the Master Data Installed in the document SAP Best Practices Tools. For an overview of all master data used in all the Logistics scenarios of the SAP Best Practices Baseline Package - localized for GCC countries, see J30: Central Master Data. Note: For detailed information on the variant files relevant to a specific scenario, please refer to the column "eCATT variant" in the Development Master Lists of the respective scenario, and in the Development Master List for J30 (central master data). All eCATT variant files are attached to the SAP Best Practices Baseline Package support note. |
