Before your start, make sure that from MS Internet Explorer

• MS Excel opens as separate window with full MS Excel functionality
• MS Word opens in the same window

Running VBA Macros

The SAP Best Practices Personalization Assistant is based on MS Excel hosted VBA macros. In order to run the SAP Best Practices Personalization Assistant, it is mandatory to permit the included VBA macros. Therefore, the macro security in MS Excel must be set to Medium or Low. To check the setting in MS Excel, click on Tools-Macros-Security and set your security level. If the setting is not compliant with your individual security requirements, reset the macro security after personalization.
If your macro security is Medium, when opening each file, you are prompted to enable or disable MS Excel macros.
Always confirm the dialog box by choosing Enable.

Important Note

For users of MS Internet Explorer, it's very important to make the settings according to the above mentioned document.
If you use an alternative web browser (for example, Mozilla Firefox), the settings might be obsolete.
We recommend closing any other MS Excel sessions during personalization. Otherwise, unsaved data might be lost if technical issues arise.
