J30 - Central Master Data

Purpose

Install this building block (J30) to set up the central master data for the complete SAP Best Practices Baseline Package - localized for the GCC countries. The central master data comprises material, customer and vendor master data. All the other master data is created in the scenarios. In addition, some of the master data created using J30 is also extended in the scenarios.

When considering installation of the Baseline Package, you must decide whether you want to install the complete package or only certain scenarios of your choice. Installation of the complete package is the recommended option and is supported by the Quick Guide. To install individual scenarios, first choose the scenarios you require then install them according to the instructions outlined in the Quick Guide. Independent of the installation option chosen (complete or part installation), the building block J30 needs to be installed.

The central master data overview list provides details on the material, customer and vendor master data delivered with the SAP Best Practices Baseline Package. The building block J30 maintains all of the material, customer, and vendor master data you need to run the scenarios.

Please note that all materials for the Service Provider scenarios of the SAP Baseline Package are not created in J30, but in the building block J24. For details on these materials, see the respective documentation of the building block J24.
