SAP Electronic Compliance Reporting (SAP ECR) lets you submit statistics declarations regarding intra-EU trade to the authorities in the following countries and statistically relevant regions of the European Union:
You can specify all the required information in the statistical declarations for intra-EU trade in SAP ECR, country-specifically, and generate the declarations in the correct data format for the respective authorities.
You are required to declare your goods movements with other nations and statistical regions of the European Union. You provide information about receipts of dispatches of duty-paid products (Community goods) in intra-Community movements, which enables the national, EU, and statistics authorities and organizations to analyze trade activities. These analyses provide information in such diverse areas as competitiveness, dependencies in goods movements of certain industry products, and price trends. In turn, this information can influence the decisions of the authorities, organizations, and political bodies.
You can use the logistics processes in your retail system as the foundation for the periodic Intrastat declarations with SAP ECR.
The configuration guide contains all steps required to implement the SAP Electronic Compliance Reporting business scenario. The guide specifies the sequence of the configuration activities, and their dependencies.
Wherever descriptions of Customizing settings do not contain explicit transaction codes, the respective information refers to activities in the Implementation Guide. To reach the IMG structure in an SAP system, enter transaction code SPRO.

To ensure that your Intrastat declarations are based on the data from your logistics documents, you have to activate extractors in your feeder system. These extractors determine the relevant information from the logistics documents –goods receipts and goods issues in the feeder system –that must be included in the Intrastat declaration. The system sends this information from the feeder system to SAP ECR, where a worklist entry for it is created. Extractors are available for SAP ERP and SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM), for example.
Intrastat declarations contain value and quantity information for products that you must identify uniquely, using commodity codes. You can use the classification functions in SAP GRC Global Trade Services o assign commodity codes to products. In addition to the specific Customizing settings for Intrastat declarations, you also need to configure the commodity codes to link them with SAP ECR. For descriptions of the required settings and how they interact under the settings for linking commodity codes, see Linking Commodity Codes with SAP ECR).
You have defined the system landscape as described in the Master Guide and other documentation. For more information, see the documentation landscape of SAP applications and business scenarios.
To enable the display of the specific documentation for SAP ECR when you select menu path, create the following entry in Customizing under : SLL-LEG in the first field of the Enhancement Chain area and 800 in the Enhancement Release field.
