Assets, Products, or Projects |
You use this iView to display the complete structure for different objects in multiple business packages (Business Package for Assets, Products, Projects). This documentation lists examples from different areas.
· You can use the easy navigation options to find the information you want quickly.
· You can expand multi-level structures to the lowest level. If an object (such as an item or a material) is linked to one or more document info records, the object is flagged with an icon, and can be displayed in a document list.
· You can explode the structure according to various validity criteria.
· You can view a variety of information in the expanded display. The expanded display requires more space on a portal page than the narrow version.

In the Business Package for Products the user gets a clearly structured summary of the material and document items for a product, or, in the Business Package for Assets, of the equipment or functional locations.
You
can choose objects in different iViews. You use the
eventing function
to copy the identifying object data (such as material number, change number,
or equipment number) to the Display Structure iView.
The following overview contains examples for each business package for the iViews in which the object is selected.

Once you have selected the header material, the structure is exploded. Structure explosion depends on the selected validity period.
You have the following options for choosing the validity period:
...
1. Current date
In the standard procedure the structure is exploded for the current date. You are not required to make any entries.
2. Entry on the Validity Screen
If you have activated the validity screen (under the personalization data), you can select a validity date or a change number.
¡ Validity date
You select a date other than the current date from the calendar.
¡ Change number
You create a change number. The system determines the Valid From date from the change master record.
Once you have chosen the date validity, the structure is exploded. The following data is displayed:
· An indicator to show whether a subordinate object exists (assembly)
· Identifying object data (such as equipment number, functional location number, or item number)
· Description for the object
·
Object-specific information
For example, in the Business Package for Products the quantity
and the unit of measure are specified for an item.
Integration
This
iView works with the
eventing
function.

To prevent errors, only one structure browser may be included on a portal page. Use either the extended structure browser, or the narrow structure browser, but not both at the same time.
To enable structure explosion, the administrator must make the following settings in the SAP system:
· Choose Tools ® User Maintenance ® User ® Change.
· Enter the following parameters and the required evaluation for the user of the business package in the Parameters tab page:
·
CSA
BOM
Application
The bill of material application stipulates the procedure for explosion
(for example, PP01,
production
explosion).
·
WRK
Plant
The plant determines the area of validity for the explosion (for example,
0001 production plant in
Switzerland).
You can find more information about the prerequisites under Technical Documentation and Configuration Notes.
If the explosion is to be carried out on a certain validity date or for a change number, you must edit the personalization data for this iView before you choose the initial object. In order to maintain this data, set the indicator in the screen for maintaining validity.
If the validity screen is activated, you can personalize the screen as follows:
· Activate Date Selection
· Activate Change Number
· Determine Initial Date
You can vary how the information is displayed and how much information is displayed. You can display the structure as a table or tree structure.
You
can explode the structure level by level according to the path you
select. You first see a view from the highest level of the
structure. If an assembly exists for an item in the displayed
explosion level, the object contains a link to the level below.
When you click a
link, the system displays the objects in the next explosion level.
The following personalized settings exist for the table view: Table Navigation and Table Design.

The system displays the entire structure. If an assembly exists for an item, it is symbolized by a structure node. When using this iView, you can expand individual structure nodes.
The following documents are displayed in this iView if the Display Documents iView and the Display Structure iView exist on the portal page:
· Documents contained in the product structure as document items
· Documents that are linked to a bill of material (BOM) item
· Documents that are linked to a material item
· Text item
· Class item
You
can display the basic data for material items and document items belonging to
the product structure. For more information, see
Display Master
Data.
